Amanda Hedrick

Director

The Children’s Learning Center has been my home since 2000. After graduating from the Ohio State University, I was able to return to my home town of Portsmouth, Ohio and begin serving families as a preschool teacher at the CLC that was opened 6 months earlier. I have been here ever since. I earned my Master's Degree in Adult Learning and Higher Education with an emphasis in Counseling from Morehead State University. I have the best job in the world caring for, nurturing and teaching young children. I also have an opportunity to work with young vibrant college students who can’t wait to fulfill their life-long dream of becoming a teacher and I get to help them in that journey. I am married to my husband Jason who is a Captain with the City of Portsmouth Police Department. We enjoy spending time with our two sons, Cole and Dalton. We enjoy traveling and experienceing the great outdoors.

My promise to you is that I will do everything in my power to make sure your children are well taken care of each day. I promise that we will feed their bodies and minds so that they become eager life-long learners. I promise that I will challenge our faculty to stay on the cutting edge of research so that they may continue to grow in their skills and knowledge. I am committed to providing a vibrant future for our school and for each child that walks through our doors.

As we work together and partner in your child’s education, never hesitate to ask for help along the way. I am here to help in any capacity that I am able. It is my pleasure to serve as the Director of the Children’s Learning Center.
